Project Overview
Mela Gebeya is a multi-vertical marketplace platform developed to connect verified brokers and buyers. It enables brokers to list and sell products such as real estate, vehicles, electronics, and other goods, while offering broker verification, in-app chat, secure transactions, and real-time notifications to ensure a trusted and professional marketplace experience.
Project Overview
Mela Gebeya is a multi-vertical marketplace platform developed to connect verified brokers and buyers. It enables brokers to list and sell products such as real estate, vehicles, electronics, and other goods, while offering broker verification, in-app chat, secure transactions, and real-time notifications to ensure a trusted and professional marketplace experience.
The Problem
Buyers in Ethiopia often struggle to find reliable listings for products like real estate, vehicles, vehicles, electronics, and other products because existing platforms are fragmented and mostly connect individual buyers and sellers. Brokers—who play a major role in local commerce—lack a dedicated digital platform to manage listings and reach a wider audience. This leads to trust issues, inefficient searching across multiple apps, and limited visibility for brokers.
The Problem

The Mela Gebeya mobile marketplace application was developed under Marvels Creative to address these challenges by creating a broker-centered, multi-vertical marketplace. The platform enables verified brokers to list and manage items across categories such as real estate, vehicles, furniture, electronics, and spare parts while allowing buyers to browse listings, use search filters, and communicate directly with brokers through in-app chat.
My role in the project was Mobile App Developer, where I was responsible for developing the mobile application and implementing the core user experience that supports listing discovery, communication, and smooth navigation across the platform.
